设计总说明锅炉是一种能量转换设备，向锅炉输入的能量有燃料中的化学能、电能，锅炉输出具有一定热能的蒸汽、高温水或有机热载体。锅的原义指在火上加热的盛水容器，炉指燃烧燃料的场所，锅炉包括锅和炉两大部分。锅炉中产生的热水或蒸汽可直接为工业生产和人民生活提供所需热能，也可通过蒸汽动力装置转换为机械能，或再通过发电机将机械能转换为电能。提供热水的锅炉称为热水锅炉，主要用于生活，工业生产中也有少量应用。产生蒸汽的锅炉称为蒸汽锅炉，常简称为锅炉，多用于火电站、船舶、机车和工矿企业。31244
热水锅炉包括电热水锅炉、燃油热水锅炉、燃气热水锅炉及燃煤热水锅炉等，热水锅炉就是生产热水的锅炉，是指利用燃料燃烧释放的热能或其它的热能（如电能、太阳能等）把水加热到额定温度的一种热能设备。《特种设备安全监察条例》所定义的锅炉是指利用各种燃料、电或者其他能源，将所盛装的液体加热到一定的参数，并对外输出热能的设备。其范围规定为容积大于或者等于30L的承压蒸汽锅炉；出口水压大于或者等于0.1MPa（表压)，且额定功率大于或者等于0.1Mw的承压热水锅炉；有机热载体锅炉。
热水锅炉广泛用于酒店、学校、宾馆、小区等企事业单位的采暖、洗浴和生活热水等。
本次要设计锅炉的汽车厂房位于沈阳市，用于制作汽车零件。
    高温热水锅炉房系新建，锅炉房主要为油漆车间工艺、采暖以及各生活楼沐浴提供所需的热能。
    锅炉房位于厂区的公用动力站房内。夏天室内气温低于40℃，冬天室内气温不低于5℃。锅炉房内安装有WNS型功率为14MW热水锅炉3台。热水锅炉房总额定功率为42MW，额定出水压力为1.25MPa，热水供回水温度为：130℃/70℃，每台重量4kg。
    锅炉燃料采用天然气。用水采用自来水。
本次设计中主要参考的资料为《锅炉房原理与设备》一书。主要的设计步骤为先进行负荷计算然后进行设备选型，在设备选型后再进行风管系统与水管系统的计算布置。
毕业论文通过3台14MW高温热水锅炉房毕业设计了解锅炉房工艺设计内容、程序和基本原则；学习设计计算方法和步骤；提高运算和制图能力。同时，通过设计巩固所学的理论知识和课本知识，并学习怎样运用这些知识去解决工程实际问题。
