ABSTRACT Hero is an eternal topic and dream of human beings. Hero worship has become a belief of culture in modern society. As the product of culture, heroism has various definitions in different cultures. Contrasting heroism in different cultures can manifest cultural differences between East and West. Films, as culture carrier, can reflect the characteristics of culture and exert great influence on culture. At present, a spate of heroic movies appear in China, which causes a trend for people to discuss the differences of heroism between China and foreign countries.46087
This paper will take Iron Man and The Flowers of War as examples to contrast and analyze cultural differences between China and America. In chapter one, it introduces the background information, objective of the research, research methodology and the significance of research. Chapter two lists previous studies and their evaluation. Then, chapter three analyzes the similarities and differences heroic images between Iron Man and The Flowers of War. Next, in chapter four this thesis shows a definition of heroism and compares the differences of heroism between China and America and discuss the reasons of the differences and the fusion of heroism. Finally, chapter five makes a conclusion.

摘要现实生活中，英雄是人们永恒的话题和追求。崇拜英雄已经成为现代社会的文化信仰。作为文化的产物，不同文化中的人对于英雄主义有着不同的理解。因此，对比不同文化中的英雄主义可以分析出东西方的文化差异。电影作为文化的载体，可以反映文化的特性并对其产生巨大的影响。近年来，出现在中国的一系列英雄题材的电影掀起了一股探讨中外英雄主义差异的潮流。
本文以《金陵十三钗》和《钢铁侠》为例进行中美英雄主义文化对比分析。第一章介绍了本文研究的背景、目的、研究方法和研究意义。第二章列出了前人的研究以及对其研究的评估。第三章比较了《钢铁侠》和《金陵十三钗》中英雄形象的相同和不同点。第四章首先展示了英雄主义的定义，并对中美之间英雄主义的差异进行探讨，以及对中美英雄主义不同的原因所在以及融合与发展进行探讨。最后第五章对全文做出总结。
