1。 Introduction 论文网

Idiom, an expression of language, which is evolved from people’s physical life, is widely accepted and used among a group of people eventually。 It is the consequence of cultural progress, development and evolution。 Both Chinese and English abound in idioms。 They mirror the long history and vivid reality。 Animals are not only human beings’ friends, but also creatures on the earth。 People use simple animal words to describe their feelings or vivid animal images to explain complex phenomena and rules。 The perfect translation of Chinese and English idioms can not only present the target language readers a vivid cultural picture, but also enrich their vocabularies。 However, owing to different cultural elements, a full understanding of the animal idioms in a culture is difficult for people who live in another culture。 Therefore, the misinterpretation of the true meaning of the Chinese animal idioms may sometimes occur to an English listener or reader and vice versa。 As a result, culturally-bounded animal idioms may hinder international communication。 (Pan 75) 从英汉动物习语看中西方文化差异:http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_202092.html
