Abstract Lead-in is the primary link in the classroom teaching。 Through lead-in, the teacher guide students to know about teaching objectives and learning target, stimulate them to actively participate in the process of classroom teaching。 Students in junior high school are in the important stage of rapid development of body and mind, which requires teachers to strengthen the guidance of students。 Excellent and effective lead-in can stimulate students' learning interest and enthusiasm; attract their attention to teaching contents。 Hence, students can make psychological and cognitive preparation for following new knowledge。 Although it’s no need to spend too much time on lead-in, it helps to achieve teaching goals, complete teaching tasks and improve teaching qualities。 As the foundation of the whole English class, lead-in determines whether a class is successful or not to a large extent, so it’s not very simple to successfully lead in。 Good start in English teaching creates a good learning atmosphere and produces warm feeling to students, by which students' learning initiative and enthusiasm, interest and desire for knowledge can be stimulated greatly。 93722
