For women’s rights, Feminist movements have break out, including the right to vote, the right about hold public office, how to work, to fair wages or equal pay, to own property, to education, to enter contracts, to have equal rights within marriage, and to have maternity leave. Feminists have also worked to promote women’s bodily autonomy and integrity, and to protect women and girls get away from rape, sexual harassment, and domestic violence.

The modern western feminist movements’ history is partitioned into three “waves”. And each wave dealt with different viewpoints of the same feminist issues.

The first-wave comprised woman’s the right to vote movements of the nineteenth and early twentieth century’s, promoting women’s right to vote. The second-wave was bonded with the ideas and actions of the women’s liberation movement beginning in the 1960s. And the second-wave campaigned for women’s legal and social equality. The third-wave is a continuation of, and a reaction to, the perceived failures of second-wave feminism, beginning in the 1990s.

Feminist campaigns are usually considered to be the main force behind major historical societal changes, particularly in the Western countries, where they are near-universally credited with having achieved women’s suffrage, gender neutrality in English language, equal wages for women, and reproductive rights for women ( including access to contraceptives and support for the legalization of abortion), and other right, such like they could enter into contracts and own their property. 田纳西•威廉斯 《热铁皮屋顶上的猫》 的女性主义解读(3):http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_35433.html
