Abstract  The topic of this paper is “Application of Game-based Teaching Approach in Primary School English Teaching”。 Two main questions are to be studied: whether the Game-based Teaching Approach can stimulate students’ interest in learning English; in comparison with the traditional teaching method, whether the Game-based Teaching Approach is helpful to improve students’ scores and promote the quantity of teaching。 First of all, it illustrates the present situation of English teaching in primary school in China and puts forward the significance of the Game-based Teaching Approach by acknowledging the new requirements in the new English Curriculum Standard。 Then, it reviews the researches on the Game-based Teaching Approach, at home and abroad(including its definition, types and features) and analyzes the psychological and cognitive characteristics of primary school students。 Lastly, it employs an experiment to answer the two questions based on the data collected on students’ interaction, interest, answer and score grade。93659

     The study employs several research method including literature method, questionnaire method and interview method, especially the analysis of experimental data to compare the different effects on English teaching between the Game-based Teaching Approach and the traditional teaching method from different various points。 The study finds that ample and efficient games can make up for disadvantages of traditional classroom and these games also exert a considerable part in improving students’ interest in learning English and their grades, especially their listening and speaking skills。

摘要本文的论题为“游戏教学法在小学英语课堂中的运用”,主要探究如下问题:游戏教学是否能提高小学生的学习兴趣,且与传统的教学法相比,游戏教学法是否能提高英语教学质量。首先,论文阐述了中国小学英语教学现状,指出新课改对小学英语提出的新要求从而提出研究的意义和目的。其次,本文综述了以往国内外对游戏教学法的研究(包括游戏的定义,类型特征等)以及小学生的心理认知特点。最后,结合课堂实例从学生的参与度,兴趣度,答案的有效性以及学生的成绩等各方面收集数据证明了游戏教学法对小学英语课堂的影响。本文的研究方法主要为文献法,问卷法,访谈法以及实验数据等多角度比较传统教学与游戏教学对小学生的学习兴趣和学习成绩的影响。通过本研究可以得出以下结论:教师组织丰富多彩且高效的游戏可以弥补传统课堂缺陷,对学生学习英语兴趣和成绩的提高发挥相当大的作用,尤其是学生的听说能力。
