2.2 Domestic Research Review

The domestic research on the “Beat” literature can be pided into two stages, the first stage of the time spaned from 1960 to 1970 and the second stage was from the late 1970s until now. The first stage was almost from the time that the “Beat Generation” was first shown in the United States and became popular , and not long after that, domestic academia has began to focus on studying the “Beat Generation” and has came out a lot of literature works about it such as World Literature in the 1960s. This book published the Gotha’s Dying Class, Decadent Literature -- the “Beat Generation” in United States which was the first one of the “Beat Generation” comments. This stage viewed the “Beat Generation” from class struggle, like Dong Hengxun’s The Decline and Corruption of the American Modern Literature and Li Zhi’s The Analysis of the Decadent Literature in Modern Western Capitalist Class.
