The research of Wavelet theories have been becoming a new direction of the applied mathematics in resent years, Being used as the mathematics tool, the wavelet has been quickly applied to analyze the image and speech, etc. From the angle of the engineering and experimentation in the MATLAB, the paper has discussed the application of image compression based on the wavelet transformation.
