摘 要随着信息技术在教育领域中应用的发展，传统以黑板、粉笔为主要媒介的教学手段已经不能满足现代教育的需求。在教育领域，PPT广泛应用于英语课堂，为英语课堂带来了新的活力。本文以淮阳第一中学为例，收集部分初中英语教师上课使用的PPT做文本分析，比较和分析PPT的特征。然后，采用问卷调查法，访谈法等进行论证，主要探究了下列问题：PPT在英语课堂的应用现状；教师使用的PPT的特征；在英语课堂应用PPT的主要问题。最后得出结论，PPT能更好的运用于支持英语课堂教学。英语教师只要充分备课，应用PPT于课堂时注意操作，注意学生表现和课堂氛围，就能取得良好的教学效果。希望本文将有益于初中英语教学。27870

Abstract
With the development of information technology applied in education, the traditional teaching method of blackboard and chalk cannot meet the needs of modern education. In the field of education，PPT is used widely in English teaching and brings new vigor for English class. Huaiyang First Middle School is taken for instance. PPT which collected from some teachers is used for text analysis, in order to analyze and compare the feathers of PPT. Research questionnaire, interview and other methods are used for demonstrating. The following questions are mainly explored: The status of application of PPT in English teaching; the characteristics of PPT applied in English teaching; the main problems of the application of PPT in class. Finally, the conclusion is: PPT can be better applied in English class teaching. As long as English teachers prepare their lessons well, and pay attention to the operation of PPT, meanwhile pay attention to students and class atmosphere. Then English teaching can obtain good teaching effect. Hopefully this paper will be beneficial to junior middle school English teaching.

On the Application of PPT in Junior Middle School
English Teaching
I. Introduction   
    Language teaching has got such a great influence from computer technology,
especially in English language teaching. More specifically, English teaching effected
greatly by PPT. In junior middle school English teaching, the most widely used
computer technology is PPT.
    Talking about Microsoft PowerPoint, during the last 25 years it became not just the world’s most popular presentation software but also a mass cultural phenomenon throughout the modern world．Nowadays，PowerPoint is used in various fields.
Education, especially English language education is one of the fields where
PowerPoint’s impact is most strongly applied since multimedia technology played an important role in language teaching. But PPT also have disadvantages in English Teaching that should not be ignored.
Many researches on application of PPT have been finished in recent years. The number of studies on application of PPT is relatively limited about promoting students’ English grade and language competency.
